On this guided tour you will visit the city of Modica Bassa. This city has a historic centre and is lined with baroque churches and monasteries. There are may cafès around where you can buy the famous Cioccolato di Modica or Cioccolata Modicana (there is no obligation to buy). After that you will visit Ragusa Ibla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.You will walk through the city and visit the beautiful Giardino Ibleo. At the entrance of the garden is the gothic Portale San Giorgio, the only remain from the church that got destroyed by an earthquake 1693. The last stop is Scicli, a quite and little town with many historic building to explore.

• Modica, in medieval times an all-important city, in fact a state within a state. Modica, like Ragusa, is built on two levels, with quaint houses perched on the hillside in between. The upper Modica Alta is the modern commercial centre while Modica Bassa, the old city centre, with Rosario Gagliardi’s Duomo (Cathedral) di San Giorgio towering above it. Gagliardi is recognised as the foremost architect of Sicilian Baroque.
